| I graduated from UCSB with a BA in Environmental
Studies in 2005 with honors and distinction in the major. I did my senior
thesis on wildlife rehabilitation based on my experiences as an intern
at the Wildlife Care Network. After spending a few months practicing permaculture
in Costa Rica and traveling I got a job sorting in the benthic lab. While
I did have a great time and learned a lot, it wasn’t exactly what
I wanted to do.
So I decided to do a Masters at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I graduated in 2007 with an MS in Environmental Sustainability with distinction. Some of the classes I took included Environmental Impact Assessments, Project Assessment, Land-use/Environment Interactions and Atmospheric Quality and Global Change. I wrote my dissertation on energy efficiency in the Private Rental Sector in Edinburgh. I am currently working at the Marine Lab doing a number
of things. For the benthic lab I’m gathering datasets done over
the past 35 years to be put in a database, I’m updating the website
and I’m helping with research on a number of issues that will be
published. I’m also working with the habitat restoration crew with
the California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM) and other various restoration
projects and report writing that is being done. |
